About the Role

Our client is a WA Government organisation based in East Perth. They are currently seeking an Asset Accountant to come in and join their team on a temp contract opportunity until 31st July 2026.


Candidates for this role must have:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or Commerce with eligibility for membership to one of the professional bodies (ICAA, CPA Australia or IPA).
  • Experience and knowledge of contemporary Asset Management and Asset Accounting practices and standards.
  • Experience in asset based financial management

Key responsibilities include:

  • Fixed Asset Register Management: Maintain the end-to-end asset lifecycle by overseeing capitalisation, transfers, disposals, and write-offs to ensure database accuracy.

  • Depreciation & Financial Reporting: Analyse and report on actual and budgeted depreciation, providing critical data for current financial statements and forward estimates.

  • Auditing & Asset Valuation: Coordinate the annual physical stock-take and assist with asset revaluations to ensure compliance and record integrity.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Liaise with asset maintainers and project managers to provide data-driven insights on asset life-cycle costing and register accuracy.

  • Policy & Process Development: Contribute to the creation, implementation, and monitoring of accounting policies and procedures to improve organisational efficiency.

  • Project & Stakeholder Support: Conduct ad-hoc investigations and liaise with external contractors to facilitate the successful delivery of PTA programs and projects.


About You

You will be an experienced Asset Accountant with proven experience and reliability in previous positions.

The successful candidate will possess:

  • Tertiary qualification in Finance or Commerce with eligibility for membership to one of the professional bodies (ICAA, CPA Australia or IPA).
  • Experience and knowledge of contemporary Asset Management and Asset Accounting practices and standards.
  • Experience in asset based financial management
